Grainmaker prides itself on serving local food and partnering with local businesses. From the construction and design of our restaurant to the ceramic bowls we serve our customers, we believe in supporting our community. Big change starts small.

Here are just a few of our local partnerships:

Our beautiful, hand-crafted ceramic bowls were designed for us by local Ceramics Artist, Tyler Gulden. Tyler uses salt firing and soda firing methods, which produce natural variations in the clay. We love that each and every bowl is unique, just like the customers eating out of them.

Tyler has been a ceramics artist for over 20 years, but this is his first time his work has appeared in a restaurant.

It's not just our signature sauce that makes our Banh Mi sandwiches so delicious. It's all in the bread. Every morning, Somerville Bread Company bakes and delivers fresh baguettes for Grainmaker, exactly how we like them. The company credits the quality of its artisan bread to its personalized, small-batch approach. We think there is a little bit of magic in there, too.

On average, restaurants waste 40 percent of their food. That didn't cut it for us. At the end of the day, we deliver whatever remaining food we have to the Boston Rescue Mission, an organization which has been providing food and shelter to those in need since 1899. We are proud to be teaming up with them to help fight hunger in Boston.
